Italy etc...

Wow, it’s been a while again, since I’ve written. I finished out my semester in Germany and then my sister came to visit me and we went to Italy for almost two weeks. We went to visit an old exchange student of ours and to travel around and see some sights in Italy. We went to Rome for a few days as well as Florence, Pisa, Milan, and Forli. We also got to lay out on the beach for a few days. I came back to Landau to pack up the rest of my stuff and to say goodbye to my friends who hadn’t gone home yet and my sister went to Hanover to visit a friend for a few days. Since we were both flying different airlines, the plan was to just meet up again in Chicago. Everything went smoothly for me as I flew Aerlingus through Ireland and on to Chicago. My sister had a slightly more eventful trip... She was scheduled to fly Lufthansa to London and from London with British Air to Chicago. She got on the Lufthansa flight as schedules but on arrival in London, was told that her flight to Chicago had been canceled. She lucked out though, and managed to get a flight that left about four hours later. After checking everyone several times over, the plane took off about two hours late and my sister made it to Chicago without any more problems.

I’ve been home now for more than a full day. It’s a funny feeling because it’s as though I never left but was also gone for a long time. I miss Germany and speaking German already so much, and I especially miss Mario. He’ll come to visit me in October (seven weeks and three days!) so I guess I should just think about that for now... It makes me feel a little better...

I was planning to move into Coe on the 26th with the rest of the returnees but it looks as though I’ll probably be moving in a little earlier. There’s an open spot for an RA position and I think I’ll accept it. Training has already begun but since I was an RA my sophomore year, it’s ok that I miss a chunk of it. Wish me luck!
